DRS Project
Duration: 12 months Role: Interaction Designer/ Service Designer
Introduction
Digital Registration Service (DRS) – Property Registration Modernization
A government-led initiative to transform the legacy, paper-based property registration system into a fully digital service. Primarily used by conveyancers and property industry professionals, with occasional citizen use.
When I joined the project, it had launched its first phase, enabling users to submit simple registration applications online. My role contributed to expanding the platform’s capabilities, improving user experience, and aligning the service with modern digital standards and government needs.
The Goal
The goal of the second stage of the project was to incrementally enhance the live service by introducing key features, such as allowing users to edit an application without having to abandon it.
My Role
My role in this project encompassed both product design and some service design, as the team lacked a dedicated service designer for a short period.
Because urgent service design amendments were needed, I stepped in to cover both roles. I collaborated closely with stakeholders to design and implement new sections of the service.
Prototyping
A major part of my role in this project was designing and building prototypes that enabled users to share, edit, and find existing applications.
As part of the service improvements, I collaborated with the service designers to create new user journeys and develop Figma prototypes. These prototypes helped us test initial assumptions with users and present our ideas to the rest of the team.
